HERSILL | NEWS | UPDATES |

In an increasingly globalised world, the medical equipment industry faces significant challenges and opportunities. At Hersill, with over 50 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of medical equipment, we understand that the key to success lies in adapting to the specifics of each market. As the industry continues to evolve and the demand for innovative solutions continues to grow, we know that internationalisation is critical to our continued progress. Today, we are present in more than 100 countries, consolidating our position as a global benchmark in the manufacture of state-of-the-art medical equipment.

Internationalisation has been a key pillar for us for more than 25 years. It is not only about exporting our products, but also about understanding the particularities of each market and adapting them to their local regulations and needs. Each new market brings with it a unique set of challenges and therefore constant adaptation of our processes and products is essential.

As the world continues to change, the opportunities for expansion are multiplying, especially in the Americas, where we find a great diversity of demands and regulations. With highly competitive markets, such as the United States, internationalisation requires a context-specific approach, but also offers endless opportunities for further growth and improvement.

Challenges of international expansion

One of the biggest challenges we face is adapting our products to the specific needs of each market. As Pedro Lucendo, our export manager, points out: “Adapting the product to each market is the key to success, which is not always easy, as each country has its own particularities. If you are not able to do this, it is practically impossible to enter. When exporting to a large number of countries, the difficulty is multiplied”.

In this regard, each region requires technical, regulatory and logistical adjustments. For example, quality standards and safety requirements for medical equipment can vary greatly from country to country. This adaptation process requires constant work, in-depth research and close collaboration with local distributors. Thanks to our experience, we can successfully meet these challenges and ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards in each of the markets in which we operate.

Strategies for internationalisation

Our strategy for internationalisation is based on the constant search for opportunities and the strengthening of relationships with our distributors. We actively participate in the most important international congresses and trade fairs in the sector. These events allow us to keep up to date with the latest trends, learn first-hand about the needs of the markets and establish key relationships with distributors and partners.

Pedro Lucendo states: “We participate in the sector’s main international congresses and trade fairs, and we also make constant prospecting trips combined with regular visits to our main distributors”. Through these initiatives, we not only strengthen our presence in existing markets, but also have the opportunity to open new doors to other emerging markets that require innovative solutions adapted to their realities.

America: a market with great potential

America, both North and South, is one of the most promising regions for Hersill, and we know that while these markets are highly competitive, they also offer great opportunities. Pedro shares with us: “In general, America, from north to south, we are trying to enter these markets where we have not traditionally had as much presence as in the rest of the world”.

Although Hersill has had a presence in Europe for years, the American markets offer us new opportunities to expand, with a variety of needs that require specific solutions. From North American countries to Latin America, we are working hard to gain a foothold in this region.

Innovation as a pillar of the future

Innovation continues to be one of the key pillars of our expansion strategy. In an increasingly demanding global market, we are committed to research and development of medical equipment with advanced technology and considerable added value. Pedro Lucendo explains: “By betting on equipment with higher technology and added value, the bet has to be on innovation”.

Innovation is the engine that drives our growth. We are developing equipment that not only meets international quality and safety standards, but also addresses the emerging needs of global markets. Our state-of-the-art medical equipment is the result of constant research and improvement, allowing us to remain at the forefront of the industry.

Impact of internationalisation on our production

Internationalisation has had a direct impact on our production capacity. Since we started exporting, we have had to adjust our facilities and processes to meet the needs of very diverse markets. Each new market implies a new set of regulations and requirements that we must meet.

Pedro Lucendo tells us: “At Hersill we have been exporting for more than 25 years, this has been a fundamental activity for us, from the beginning we have had to adapt our products and production capacity to markets very different from ours”. These adjustments have allowed our facilities to grow and adapt to production requirements, ensuring that our products maintain their quality in all international markets.

New Global Challenges and Opportunities

This year, one of the biggest challenges we face is to consolidate our entry into the US market, one of the most competitive and demanding in the world. Pedro is optimistic: “We currently sell in more than 100 countries, the main challenge this year is to enter the US market, it looks like we are finally going to make it”. Entering the US market will mark a milestone in our history and will open new doors of growth, further consolidating us as a global leader in medical equipment manufacturing.

At Hersill, we are committed to quality, innovation and continuous improvement. We know that internationalisation is a constant challenge, but it is also an opportunity to continue to learn, evolve and deliver products that improve the lives of patients around the world. With a solid base of experience and a clear vision for the future, we continue to adapt to global needs and respond to market challenges with determination.

The road ahead is promising, and we are ready to meet any challenge that comes our way. As we continue to expand around the world, we know that innovation, adaptation and quality will continue to be the pillars on which we build our future. With every step we take, we reaffirm our commitment to being a global leader in medical equipment manufacturing.
