On 28 March 2025, the Hersill team travelled to Slovenia for a full day of training on the use of the VITAE® 40 portable ventilator, an essential tool in critical hospital and out-of-hospital emergency situations.
The session was divided into two training sessions adapted to the different profiles of healthcare professionals who are already using or will start using this equipment in their daily practice.
The first training took place at Jesenice Hospital, where a group of nurses from the Intensive Care Unit, together with the head of service, received a technical and practical session on the use of the VITAE® 40. This training focused on its use in the critical hospital environment, addressing both its advanced configuration and its application in emergency situations. During the day, the professionals were able to learn first-hand about the functions of the equipment and resolve specific doubts in their clinical environment, highlighting its ease of use, versatility and reliability even in the most demanding scenarios.
We then travelled to the Medical Center Kočevje, where the focus was on the use of the VITAE® 40 in mountain rescue contexts, an environment where the robustness, lightness and autonomy of the equipment are decisive. The session was aimed at emergency technicians and the rescue team leader, who work daily in complex situations that require efficient and easily transportable ventilation equipment. Through a practical demonstration and simulations of use, the most useful functionalities of the VITAE® 40 for this type of intervention were demonstrated, with special emphasis on its performance in extreme conditions.
