At Hersill, we recognise that in-hospital transport of critically ill patients is a particularly sensitive time. Removing an unstable person from the intensive care unit for diagnostic tests or treatment carries significant clinical risks. That’s why ensuring patient stability and safety during this process is a priority for us.
We recently presented our pulmonary ventilation proposal for intra-hospital transport within the framework of the Innovation Committee of the Institute for the Development and Integration of Healthcare Foundation (IDIS). At this meeting, together with Dr. Javier Ariño, from the Hospital Clinico San Carlos, we highlighted the importance of having transport ventilators that ensure respiratory stability and patient safety at each stage of the transfer.
We divide the process into three phases: preparation, transfer and stabilisation. Each requires careful handling of equipment and close coordination between medical and nursing staff to ensure the patient’s well-being at all times. That is why we believe that high-quality ventilators, which combine the performance of intensive care equipment with the mobility and autonomy of emergency equipment, are essential to avoid complications, especially in intubated or post-operative patients.
Our Vitae 40 was the centrepiece of this presentation. It is a ventilator designed specifically for intra-hospital transport, offering advanced ventilation modes, full monitoring, capnography, and a long battery life. In addition, its light weight facilitates mobility and reliability during transport of critically ill patients.
To illustrate its usefulness, we share an explanatory video in which Dr. Luis Castro, Head of Paediatric Anaesthesia and Resuscitation at La Paz Children’s Hospital, explains the advantages of the Vitae 40 in the safe transfer of paediatric patients, an area where accuracy and reliability are even more crucial.
Hersill greatly appreciates that the IDIS Foundation, through its CEO Marta Villanueva, recognises the importance of healthcare technology for patient safety and efficiency. Tools such as our intra-hospital transport ventilator are a clear example of how innovation can reinforce the quality of care and facilitate safe procedures in complex clinical environments.
We remain committed to innovation and technological excellence to provide solutions that improve the safety and quality of healthcare at all stages of the care process.
Hersill is part of the Technologies that make a country campaign, which showcases the technological companies that develop, manufacture and innovate in Spain. Its work is actively contributing to the strengthening of the national technology industry, the creation of jobs and economic progress, while reinforcing Spain’s industrial autonomy to face the challenges of the future.
