At Hersill, on 23 March 2026, we will participate in WildMed 2026, the 4th Mountain Emergency Medicine Conference, leading practical workshops on airway management. We will present advanced solutions such as the VITAE 40 ventilator, designed to provide critical ventilatory support in extreme environments and adverse weather conditions.
The challenge of healthcare in extreme environments
Medical care in high mountains and remote environments does not allow for mistakes. In these scenarios, where cold and isolation condition every manoeuvre, we understand that technology must be an infallible ally.
That is why, our team will be present at the Masella ski resort (Girona). We will actively participate in an event that has established itself as the national benchmark for technical training in rescue and complex emergencies, organised by SEMES (Emergencias en Montaña & Medio Natural).
Advanced training: Clinical simulation in real-life scenarios
At WildMed, theory is put into practice. This professional gathering seeks to improve the quality of care through practical simulation, enabling emergency doctors and nurses specialising in mountain and wilderness medicine to train in highly stressful and technically complex situations.
A specialised meeting that will bring together healthcare professionals and rescue experts to address the challenges of providing care in the natural environment.
The meeting will include scientific sessions and practical workshops designed to reproduce real mountain rescue scenarios, where coordination, technical preparation and equipment are crucial.
Workshop on airway management in winter conditions
We will coordinate Workshop 9: “Airway management in winter terrain”, which will take place in two sessions (12:00 and 13:00). This workshop is designed to address the specific challenges of treating critical patients in snowy conditions and remote areas:
- Airway management with limited resources.
- Ventilation management in extreme temperatures.
- Protocols for action in areas that are difficult to access.
VITAE 40: Cutting-edge technology for rescue operations
To carry out these procedures, we will use our VITAE 40 transport and emergency ventilator. A solution designed by Hersill to provide reliable and adaptable ventilatory support in critical situations, allowing professionals to train procedures in a realistic and clinically-oriented context. It stands out for its lightness, ergonomics, robustness and intuitive interface, which are key factors when professionals need to operate outside of a hospital setting.
Our commitment to emergency medicine
At Hersill, our participation in WildMed 2026 reinforces our mission to support healthcare professionals in the most demanding environments. We believe that the combination of technical training and high-fidelity equipment is key to increasing survival rates in critical interventions, contributing to the development of clinical skills and advancing healthcare that is prepared for any environment.
