In 2026, we renewed our partnership with the Mostoles Red Cross to support the ‘Emergency Response to Basic Needs’ project. This initiative will enable us to continue supporting vulnerable families and builds on a partnership which, throughout 2025, helped to drive forward initiatives in the areas of support, training and social guidance.
A commitment that continues into 2026
At Hersill, we are delighted to renew, for yet another year, our commitment to the “Urgent Assistance for Basic Needs” project, an initiative by the Mostoles Red Cross aimed at meeting the essential needs of vulnerable families through the provision of food, hygiene products and school supplies.
Thanks to this programme, we have been able to help 535 people, providing them with an immediate response at particularly critical times and ensuring they have access to basic resources whilst they work towards regaining their independence.
This contribution forms part of an ongoing partnership between the two organisations, which has been in place since 2021, a partnership “based on shared values of solidarity, social commitment and closeness to those who need the most support”, explains Cinta Gomez, local head of the Mostoles Red Cross Assembly. Over the years, she points out, “HERSILL has consistently supported the social programmes run by the Mostoles Red Cross, helping the organisation to continue providing effective responses to the emerging needs of the most vulnerable members of the community”.
The continuation of this partnership will enable the project to continue; as Alvaro Junquera Fernandez, technical director of the Mostoles Red Cross, explains, it remains a priority for the local authority. “We continue to see a great need, and it is in this project that Hersill’s contribution has the greatest impact, because the infrastructure is already in place and we simply need the ‘fuel’ to keep it running. Continuity here guarantees immediate results for these families,” he says.
The relationship between the two organisations also extends to other charitable initiatives led by the Red Cross, in which HERSILL plays an active part, thereby strengthening a bond that goes beyond financial support and translates into a genuine commitment to the local community.
The results for 2025 support the continuation of the project
This renewal of the commitment comes after a year in which the Red Cross had to cope with an increase in social needs, strengthening its response capacity to assist a greater number of people.
As Alvaro Junquera Fernandez explains, “2025 has been a year of major challenges, in which our main achievement has been to maintain and expand our capacity to respond to growing demand. We know that aid should not be merely charitable; it is vital to offer comprehensive support”.
During this period, the organisation has placed particular emphasis on training and capacity-building initiatives, providing families with the tools they need to move towards greater independence.
According to the Mostoles Red Cross’s 2025 annual report, Hersill’s collaboration has contributed to the development of a project that has made it possible to:
- To provide support to 535 people in vulnerable circumstances.
- Carry out 1,302 interventions to meet their needs.
- Provide 1,491 responses tailored to each individual case.
- To award 245 grants.
- Carry out 476 information and guidance sessions.
- Carry out 48 personalised follow-ups.
- To distribute 20 aid packages containing essential items, including hygiene and sanitary products.
A partnership that makes a significant impact
Hersill’s support has helped to ensure that attention is maintained both on the most urgent needs and on the development of initiatives aimed at promoting inclusion and personal autonomy, highlighting, as Cinta Gomez points out, the importance of collaboration between the business community and social organisations in building a more inclusive and cohesive society.
In the words of Alvaro Junquera Fernandez: “Our partnership with Hersill is a cornerstone for us. Their annual donation translates directly into stability and resources for many families in Mostoles. Thanks to this support, we have been able to continue providing essential aid and running skills development workshops, ensuring that no one is left behind. Their commitment is the driving force that enables us to transform people’s lives.”
These initiatives reflect an approach to social responsibility based on long-term collaboration and on creating a positive and measurable impact on the local community. You can find out more here about the projects on which HERSILL has collaborated with the Mostoles Red Cross.
